Guitars
My "career" of building guitars had (or has, since it's still going on) two phases. From 1989 to about 1999 I built six guitars. These are detailed in the Early Guitars page. They were built using a bare minimum of tools. I didn't even have a drill press, I used one of those drill mounting contraptions. Basic tools at that time were a router, a cheap Sears 6.25" jointer/planer, a jig saw, a little razor saw (that I used to make the fret slots), a random orbit sander, and a ton of elbow grease. I needed the jointer/planer to turn lumber into a neck blank and body sides. In those days I had never even heard of StewMac and the World Wide Web was just a gleam in Tim Berners-Lee's eye.
I began building guitars again in 2018 after being suckered in by a StewMac Strat style kit. Remember kiddies, the first hit is free (or at least cheap, in this case). Once you start you just can't stop. Those guitars (and one bass) are covered in the Later Guitars page.
